PRIVACY
What happens to your information.
This page explains the data handling implemented for this website, including what changes when online inquiries are enabled.
Who runs this website
Hernbrode is the independent web design and development studio run by Raymond Hernbrode. For a question about this website or an inquiry you have sent, email Raymond.
Information in an inquiry
The inquiry form requires your name, email address, and project details. Business name, service interest, website address, budget, and timeline are optional. Please provide business context rather than sensitive personal information. The site does not accept uploads or visit the website address you enter.
When the form is enabled and a submission is accepted, the information is sent through Resend to the configured inquiry mailbox so Raymond can assess and respond to the request. Your email address is used as the reply-to address. The site does not add you to a marketing list.
When form delivery is not configured and a contact email is available, the contact page offers a direct email link instead. That link opens your email app; this website does not send the message. If neither route is available, the page explains that online inquiries are unavailable.
Abuse prevention and duplicate requests
The inquiry handler checks submissions for invalid input and automated abuse. When configured, it uses Upstash Redis to keep shared request limits and duplicate-submission records. Rate-limit identifiers are derived from IP and email information using a keyed hash. The application does not store the full inquiry text in Redis.
These short-lived records expire automatically, with retention of up to 24 hours. A keyed identifier derived from the inquiry content helps prevent duplicate email. This does not prevent the email provider or the receiving mailbox from retaining their own records.
Technical information
The web host and service providers receive technical information needed to operate their services, which may include IP addresses, request times, and delivery information. Their logging and retention depend on the provider and hosting configuration. The application does not intentionally log complete inquiries or their personal details.
Cookies, analytics, and local storage
This implementation does not use analytics, advertising trackers, application cookies, or browser storage for inquiries. Fonts and artwork are served with the website. There is no analytics integration enabled.
Service providers
When enabled, inquiry delivery uses Resend and abuse protection uses Upstash. The selected web host and receiving email provider also process information necessary to provide their services. Those providers have their own data handling practices.
Retention and requests
The application does not maintain a separate inquiry database. Accepted inquiries are delivered to the configured mailbox, where correspondence may be retained for handling the request and related business records. A universal retention period for mailbox messages is not specified here.
If you want to ask about, correct, or request removal of information you sent, contact Raymond using the contact option above. What can be done may depend on the information involved and applicable record-keeping requirements.
Changes to this page
This explanation should be updated if the website’s integrations or data handling change. It describes the implemented website rather than making guarantees about the practices of third-party services.
